A Little History, Pittsburgh's Point

George Washington spent some time viewing the rivers, and the land in the fork as a young man while delivering a letter from the Hon. Robert Dinwiddie, His Majesty's Lieutenant-Governor to the French Commander in the field.  French Commander De St. Piere was in charge of the forces situated on the Rivers of Ohio.  At that time known as the property of the Crown of Great Britain.

This is, of course, the present day site of the Pittsburgh Golden Triangle.  Washington's estimate of the strategic value of the forks of Ohio is interesting.  The site became, in fact a pivotal point in the French and Indian War, occupied first by the French Fort Duquesne and then the English Fort Pitt.

Just Sold

I just closed on this wonderful townhouse on the North Side.  It has a fabulous New Orleans style backyard.  My buyers are thrilled!

Uptown Window

I just don't have a view from my uptown window, I have a life.  In the last 6 to 7 years since I have lived in downtown Pittsburgh things have really changed.  I can only say I wish I had moved here sooner!

My latest discover is the bike trails.  I started out renting a bike under the Sixth Street Bridge at Venture Outdoors.  They also have kayaks and I plan to try that next year.  For now I am in the market for the perfect bicycle.
